The cover was custom illustrated by Jeff Brown, one of my favorite artists (If you are unfamiliar with his work, you can check it out here.).
For those who have read the serialized version of the book, you might recognize this scene from the past timeline (look at that blood splatter on Zelda’s pants, iykyk), and for those who are brand new to Wyrmrot, allow me to introduce you to the characters.
From left to right, we have Deon (a new friend at the time of this scene), Cooper (the love interest), Zelda (front and center because she is our protagonist), Skyller (the boy they are trying to reunite with his family), and last but not least, Nevan (another new friend and Deon’s boyfriend).
